Overview and Inspiration
I sought to transform the way audiences engage with data on crimes against women. By crafting a mobile experience that combines statistics with immersive storytelling, I aimed to evoke emotion, foster understanding, and inspire action. Incorporating sound effects, gesture controls, and haptic feedbacks, I designed an interactive journey that invites viewers to become active participants in the narrative. My ultimate goal? Empowering individuals to not only gain insight and empathy but also take meaningful action, amplifying awareness and driving positive change.
Challenges and Discovery
The data collected was in the form of graphs, numerics, articles, headlines, audio files etc. The challenge was to make this data consumable.
In the first week, I focused on collecting essential data and user insights to inform our interactive mobile storytelling experience. We conducted surveys, gathered relevant media data, and identified the story.
Technology and Design Execution
I added dynamic interactions and haptic feedback to enhance user engagement. This involved integrating responsive animations, touch gestures, and haptic feedback to create a more immersive experience.
The interface was designed keeping the experience in mind. The font and colors were chosen to depict a dark, gloomy and gruesome mood throughout the journey. Illustrations and animations were also tailored.
Result and Impact
The micro-interactions such as fling, drag, tilting the phone, and haptic feedback along with illustrations, animations, and sound effects enriched the experience. These interactions and sounds created an environment of surprise and discovery at unexpected junctions. I was able to create a multi sensory experience and an experience as real as possible that left a lasting impression on the audience.
